Terms of Service & Privacy — the essentials

By creating an account you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This panel covers the key points; the linked documents are the full and authoritative version.

Your account

An account represents one organization. Keep your password and second factor secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. A Skans licence is required to run the software; the Community edition is free and issues immediately.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt it, gain unauthorized access, or resell access without our permission. The software you install is governed by the separate Software License Agreement.

Your data

We hold your account and contact details, your sign-in records, and the licences issued to you — to run your account, secure the service, and (unless you opt out) send service and CVE-watch email. We do not sell or share your personal information, and the appliance keeps your operational data on your own premises. You can export or delete everything from Settings, and you have GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and PIPEDA rights.

Service & liability

The service is provided “as is,” without warranties, and our liability is limited as set out in the Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes

We may update these terms and will take reasonable steps to let you know; continued use means you accept the current version.
